Biography
Michael Fritsch is Professor of Economics and Chair of Business Dynamics, Innovation, and Economic Change at the Friedrich Schiller University Jena, Germany. He is also Research Professor at the German Institute for Economic Research (DIW-Berlin), at the Max Planck Institute for Economics, Jena, and at the Halle Institute for Economic Research (IWH), Halle, Germany. Michael acts as an Associate Editor of Small Business Economics – An Entrepreneurship Journal. He has published numerous academic articles in scholarly journals and a number of books. His main fields of research are new business formation processes and their impact on economic development, innovation systems and innovation behaviour, economic development strategies, as well as markets and market failure.
