Productivity Heroes in Wales: who they are and why they matter

Economic Intelligence Wales commissioned the Enterprise Research Centre to analyse Productivity Heroes in Wales.
The report, Productivity Heroes in Wales: who they are and why they matter authored by ERC Deputy Director Mark Hart , ERC Research Fellow George Paily and ERC associate Adam Hardy, finds that Wales has a smaller, but increasingly productive, cohort of Productivity Heroes: SMEs trading for three or more years that have grown both turnover and employment, with turnover rising faster than employment.
Launched today at a breakfast briefing co-hosted by the Federation of Small Businesses (FSB) Wales, the report, sets out the main characteristics of some of Wales’s highest-performing small and medium-sized businesses. It also shows how targeted investment, strong leadership and effective business support can help unlock stronger economic growth across Wales.
