ERC research on Late Payment ( SOTA No 70) authored by Rita Nana- Cheraa and Mark Hart was cited in a Government report card released on 15th July: Backing your business: Small Business Plan one year on – GOV.UK.
One year on, the Government sets out areas where they are delivering for SMEs across the country – helping businesses boost cashflow, save time and remove barriers to growth. This includes action on late payments, access to finance, red tape, hiring and apprenticeships, high streets, exports and business support. ERC’s global audit on late payment for DBT and the OSBC highlights that the UK’s Commercial Payments Bill, currently going through Parliament, is the most comprehensive late payment framework among major economies that incorporates several ‘gold standards’ to address the structural power imbalances inherent in late payments.
