The Longitudinal Small Business Survey (LSBS) is the UK’s ‘gold standard’ data for all aspects of SME growth and productivity.

This workshop provides an opportunity to hear from five of the UK’s leading SME researchers about how they are using this data in their research.

Catherine Robinson (Kent Business School) will focus on spatial aspects of innovation, while Marion Frenz (Birkbeck, University of London) will explore the links between training and innovation outcomes. Sara Maioli (Newcastle) will discuss spatial productivity disparities in England with Andrew Johnston (Sheffield Hallam) and Robyn Owen (Middlesex) focussing on the role of universities and finance in supporting productivity upgrading in SMEs.
