Understanding productivity: Organisational Capital perspectives
A new working paper co-authored by ERC colleagues Mark Hart , Stephen Roper and Jun Du has been published by The Productivity Institute, outlining the ‘Organisational Capital’ research theme.
The central theme of this programme of work is the need for greater understanding of heterogeneity in terms of the drivers of productivity and the role different types of firms play in the productivity puzzle. The paper considers a range of themes, including entrepreneurship and small firm growth, innovation and collaboration, internationalisation, inward investment, supply chain coordination and corporate governance. It sets out an agenda that highlights the commonality between these themes, and the value of exploring them together, rather than as disparate strands of different literatures, as has previously been the case.
