Effie is Senior Research Fellow at the Enterprise Research Centre and Associate Professor in Applied Economics at Leeds University Business School. Prior to that, she was Lecturer in Industrial Economics at Nottingham University Business School. Her research is interdisciplinary and seeks to understand the institutional, demand, organizational factors that drive environmental innovations; to assess the impact of international sustainability standards upon firm performance; and to explain the role of city-regions and local knowledge spillovers upon firm’s innovation and productivity.

Biography
Effie is Senior Research Fellow at the Enterprise Research Centre and Associate Professor in Applied Economics at Leeds University Business School. Prior to that, she was Lecturer in Industrial Economics at Nottingham University Business School. Her research is interdisciplinary and seeks to understand the institutional, demand, organizational factors that drive environmental innovations; to assess the impact of international sustainability standards upon firm performance; and to explain the role of city-regions and local knowledge spillovers upon firm’s innovation and productivity. Her research has received funding by the Netherlands Organisation for Scientific Research (NWO), Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC), Biotechnology and Biological Sciences Research Council (BBSRC) and by the Universities of Nottingham and Leeds. She has published her interdisciplinary work in Research Policy, Ecological Economics, International Journal of Production Economics, Journal of Business Ethics, World Development, Journal of Environmental Management, Business History, Business Strategy and the Environment, European Journal of Development Research, and Industry and Innovation.
