The ERC in collaboration with the CDFA held a 1 day event ‘ Realising the Growth Potential of New Businesses’ at the Shard, London on Monday June 1st 2015.

This workshop hosted by Ben Hughes, CEO – CDFA and Stephen Roper , Director  – ERC  explored the changing nature of micro business in the UK and the demands this places on organisations seeking to provide support as these businesses grow.The profile of new business start-ups in the UK is changing as self-employment booms. The event attended by over 40 delegates from both the business and academic sectors aimed to answer some key questions:

How can we best shape local support to help these new businesses to realise their full growth potential?

How can we best provide finance and other support as firms experience the transitions from self-employment to micro- to growth-business?

Speakers on the day included ERC associates, Karen Bonner & Drew Gertner with guest speakers, Julia Groves and Paul Taberner , with a panel debate closing the day.
