Global Entrepreneurship Monitor UK report 2025/2026
The Global Entrepreneurship Monitor ( GEM ) UK report “Beyond the Unicorns: Everyday Ambition, Uneven Support – The State of UK Entrepreneurship 2025/26″ has been published today.
Authored by Mark Hart, Karen Bonner, Neha Prashar, Anastasia Ri, Samuel Mwaura, Ines Alvarez Boulton and Sreevas Sahasranamam this year’s bumper edition covers multiple relevant aspects of entrepreneurship in the UK , including youth entrepreneurship , solo and growth-ambitious entrepreneurs, women and finance, AI, the entrepreneurial ecosystem, ethnic minority entrepreneurs and franchising.
The findings from the GEM UK 2025/26 Report challenge some long-held assumptions about entrepreneurship and highlight the policies, support systems and investment needed to unlock the UK’s entrepreneurial potential.
If we want to achieve “𝐠𝐨𝐨𝐝 𝐠𝐫𝐨𝐰𝐭𝐡 𝐢𝐧 𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐲 𝐩𝐨𝐬𝐭𝐜𝐨𝐝𝐞”, we need to understand and support not just a small number of high-growth firms, but the much broader community of entrepreneurs who underpin economic growth across the UK.
