This is the second in a series of benchmark reports on the impact of the COVID-19 crisis on the status of Innovate UK award holders. Analysis is based on an on-line survey of 242 Innovate UK award holders conducted between 28th September and 16th October 2020 and 23 in-depth interviews undertaken between the 16th and 30th of November 2020. We compare results from the second survey to the first on-line survey undertaken in June/July 2020, around the end of the first wave of COVID-19. The report provides a snapshot of firms’ views at the time of the fieldwork in October/November 2020. We also compare results from the second survey to the first on-line survey undertaken in June/July 2020, around the end of the first wave of COVID-19. While the findings of the report have been superseded by the tightening of restrictions in December 2020 and subsequent Tier 4 lockdown, they provide a record of how firms ‘bounced-back’ or rather ‘bounced forwards’ between the initial waves of the survey.
