Biography
Deniz Ucbasaran is a Professor of Entrepreneurship at Warwick Business School. She has held a visiting position at Vlerick Leuven Gent Management School and is currently visiting professor at the University of Oslo. She is mostly known for her work which places the individual entrepreneur and the entrepreneurial team at the heart of entrepreneurial activity. Her work has been published in a range of internationally recognized academic and practitioner journals including: Harvard Business Review, Journal of Business Venturing, Entrepreneurship Theory and Practice, Journal of Management and Journal of Management Studies. She has worked with both private business and public policy circles – her work having been used by Alliance Boots, EIM Business and Policy Research (Netherlands), Flanders District of Creativity (Belgium), Biotechnology YES, Scottish Enterprise, among others. She has a strong track record of working collaboratively as is evidenced by co-authorship on publications.
At the ERC she works closely with Professor Andy Lockett of Warwick Business School, with whom she has published three refereed journal articles in top international journals. She has also published sixteen refereed journal articles with ERC Associate Director, Professor Mike Wright of Imperial College London.
